Qatar Airways Reports Record QR7.85 Billion Profit in 2024/25 Fiscal Year

Qatar Airways has announced a record profit of QR7.85 billion ($2.15 billion) for the fiscal year 2024/25, marking the strongest financial performance in its history. This represents an increase of QR1.7 billion ($0.5 billion) from the previous year.

The impressive results were highlighted in the airline’s latest annual report. They reflect the successful performance of several divisions, including Qatar Airways Cargo, Qatar Duty Free, and Qatar Aircraft Catering Company.

Qatar Airways Cargo led the way with a 17 percent increase in revenue. It achieved its best results since the COVID-19 pandemic. This success was driven by adaptability, digital investment, data analysis, and reliable service.

HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Chairman of the Board, praised the achievement. “These results show Qatar Airways’ leadership in global aviation and economic growth,” he said. “They are a product of strategic planning and dedicated effort. Our stable, sustainable approach drives this success.”

Similarly, Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Qatar Airways Group CEO, attributed the results to teamwork. “This record-breaking profit is thanks to our 55,000 global employees,” he said. “Fostering talent is key to our Qatar Airways 2.0 strategy.”

Moreover, Al Meer emphasized the airline’s ability to stay flexible amid global challenges. He also noted the company’s partnerships and investments that help it remain competitive.

“Through innovations like Qsuite, fine dining, and free Starlink internet, we continue to offer world-class service,” he added.

Among the year’s highlights, Qatar Airways saw a 28% rise in profits. Additionally, Hamad International Airport expanded, now accommodating 65 million passengers yearly.

Qatar Airways became the first airline globally—and the first in the MENA region—to equip its Boeing 777 fleet with Starlink WiFi. It also secured a 25% stake in Virgin Australia and South Africa’s Airlink.

Notably, Qatar Airways introduced AI-powered digital crew “Sama” and signed multiple technical MoUs. These efforts aim to diversify its operations and support the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Without a doubt, the Qatar Airways record profit underscores its commitment to excellence. As the airline evolves, its leadership in innovation and service continues to shape global aviation.
