The Qatar Airways Privilege Club has introduced new updates to support frequent flyers affected by ongoing regional disruptions. The airline confirmed that it will extend membership tiers for eligible travelers in 2026. This move comes as flight cancellations and rescheduling continue across Middle Eastern airspace.
Since late February, regional conflict has disrupted airline operations across the Gulf. As a result, many passengers could not complete planned trips or earn required loyalty points. Therefore, Qatar Airways introduced new measures to protect customer benefits and maintain trust.
The airline confirmed that it will extend tier status for members whose renewal dates fell during the disruption period. In addition, it will notify eligible travelers directly through email with detailed instructions. This step ensures that members keep their benefits despite reduced travel activity.
Moreover, Qatar Airways emphasized that safety remains its top priority. Authorities closed Qatari airspace at the start of the crisis, which forced the airline to suspend operations temporarily. However, the airline has gradually resumed flights, although it continues to depend on regulatory approvals.
At the same time, the airline is working to resolve customer concerns. It is actively processing open bookings, refunds, and pending complaints. Officials stated that support teams are handling each request as a priority.
The Qatar Airways Privilege Club remains a key part of the airline’s customer strategy. The program allows members to earn rewards through flights and partner services. Travelers collect Qpoints to maintain their membership tier, while Avios points provide access to rewards such as upgrades and services.
Additionally, the program includes four membership tiers: Burgundy, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each level offers increasing benefits, including extra baggage, lounge access, and priority services. However, members must usually meet specific Qpoints targets within set timeframes to retain their status.
Due to recent disruptions, many travelers could not meet these requirements. As a result, the airline decided to extend eligibility periods for affected members by up to one year. This adjustment helps travelers retain their status without additional pressure.
Members outside the disruption window must still follow standard renewal rules. They need to meet the usual Qpoints targets and activity requirements within their qualification periods.
The Qatar Airways Privilege Club updates highlight the airline’s focus on flexibility during uncertain times. Experts say such measures strengthen customer loyalty and improve long-term engagement. As regional conditions evolve, Qatar Airways is expected to continue adapting its policies to support passengers.
