Prime Minister Launches Key Strategic Projects in Dhi Qar

Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani has launched the execution of three major strategic projects in Dhi Qar province. These projects aim to boost the region’s infrastructure and healthcare while enhancing electricity generation. The total cost for these initiatives amounts to approximately 2.195 trillion Iraqi dinars.

The first of these projects is the construction of a combined-cycle power plant in Nasiriyah. This plant will have a capacity of 921 megawatts, using natural gas to generate electricity. The plant is expected to significantly contribute to Iraq’s energy sector and help meet the growing demand for power in the region.

The second project is a comprehensive medical city in Nasiriyah. This city will include seven hospitals, with a total capacity of 700 beds. The medical city will provide advanced healthcare services to residents, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the province for treatment. This project is an important step towards improving public health infrastructure in southern Iraq.

The third strategic initiative focuses on upgrading the infrastructure in the town of Souq al-Shuyoukh. This project aims to improve roads, sanitation, and other essential services in the area. It is part of a broader plan to modernize rural areas and improve the quality of life for their residents.

Prime Minister al-Sudani emphasized the importance of these projects for the development of Dhi Qar. He stated that the projects will provide jobs and boost local economies. Furthermore, they will help in addressing some of the longstanding challenges in the region, such as electricity shortages and healthcare access.

With these strategic projects underway, Dhi Qar will experience significant improvements in infrastructure and services. Prime Minister al-Sudani’s commitment to these initiatives reflects his government’s focus on enhancing the welfare of Iraq’s citizens and ensuring sustainable development across the country.
