Peaceful dispute resolution remains a central priority for the Sultanate of Oman, as reaffirmed during a high-level session at the United Nations Security Council. The meeting explored legal and diplomatic ways to resolve conflicts through international cooperation and peaceful dispute resolution.

Additionally, Oman urged practical steps to implement the UN’s founding objectives. The country supports adapting peacekeeping missions to modern challenges. Al Kithiri noted that clearer standards and updated mandates will boost both effectiveness and global confidence in multilateral peace operations.
He also pointed out that the vital role of the Security Council and the International Court of Justice in enforcing global legal standards. According to Oman, upholding the rule of law and accountability mechanisms is key to restoring trust in international institutions.
In closing, Al Kithiri called for serious Security Council reform. He proposed making the council more inclusive and responsive to modern challenges. Oman believes that consensus-driven reforms can advance peaceful dispute resolution, safeguard global peace, and secure economic prosperity for all nations.
