Oman’s Architecture Revival Initiative Set to Begin on Wednesday

The Architecture Revival Initiative, organized by the Office of His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, will begin on Wednesday at the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah. The event will run through February 22. This initiative follows the success of the first and second cycles of the Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design and the competition for the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at Expo Japan 2025.

The initiative focuses on enriching Oman’s architectural sector by engaging a variety of people interested in architectural design, including professionals, experts, and students. The event will emphasize the importance of architecture as a key component of national identity and cultural heritage.

The initiative will provide a platform for the community to explore the impact of Omani architecture from historical, cultural, and economic perspectives. Moreover, it will highlight innovative approaches in design and construction used throughout Oman’s history. By showcasing these methods, the initiative encourages the continued development of architectural heritage and inspires modern applications.

Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in discussions that promote creativity and entrepreneurship in the field. The event aims to foster a supportive environment for architectural professionals, helping them expand their opportunities in the Omani job market.

The event will focus on three main pillars: continuous education, innovation, and market readiness. These pillars aim to enhance the sector by encouraging the growth of skills and preparing the market for future architectural challenges. Over the course of three days, the initiative will provide attendees with valuable insights into these areas, helping to advance the architectural field in Oman.

Ultimately, the Architecture Revival Initiative offers a chance for all those interested in design to benefit from the discussions and activities that will shape the future of Oman’s architecture.
