Oman Signs 18 Agreements on Logistics Day 2025

On April 30, 2025, Oman marked Logistics Day with significant strides in its transport and logistics sector. The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MoTCIT) signed 18 agreements, collectively valued at over RO 100 million. These agreements aim to bolster the logistics infrastructure and public transport systems across the country.

One of the notable agreements was between Oman National Transport Company (Mwasalat) and the Oman Energy Association (Opal). This partnership focuses on enhancing workforce efficiency in the energy sector. It aims to establish frameworks for qualification and training, thereby raising the competency of workers in energy-related fields. Additionally, MoTCIT collaborated with Khazaen City to establish the Khazaen Logistics Complex.

The event also highlighted the launch of several initiatives to foster growth in the logistics sector. These include free public transportation for college and university students in Muscat and Salalah for two years. This aims to encourage the use of public transport among the youth. Furthermore, the “Public Transport Open Day” initiative was introduced to raise awareness and promote the benefits of public transportation among citizens. An “Experiences Programme” was also announced to showcase real-life situations and practices within the logistics sector.

The ministry’s strategic initiatives aim to position the logistics sector as a key contributor to the national economy. By implementing these agreements and initiatives, Oman seeks to enhance its logistics infrastructure. It aims to improve public transport systems and create a more sustainable and efficient transportation network across the country.

In conclusion, Logistics Day 2025 served as a platform for Oman to demonstrate its commitment to advancing its transport and logistics sector.
