Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) officially launched the Omani Commercial Office in the United States. The ceremony took place at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., under the patronage of Ambassador Talal Sulaiman Al Rahbi.
The new office will strengthen Oman’s global trade network. It aims to boost Omani exports, attract U.S. investments, and increase American imports. The office will also assist Omani companies in entering the U.S. market through better coordination and advisory services.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of OCCI’s Board, emphasized the move as a strategic step. He said the office will empower the private sector and align with Oman’s global trade network.
In addition, Al Rowas highlighted that the office will support sustainable development by encouraging innovation and cross-border partnerships. The initiative supports Oman Vision 2040 and aims to diversify the economy.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji stressed the importance of attracting foreign investment. She noted the office will help American companies access Oman’s business environment. She said the office complements Oman’s wider plan to expand abroad.
Ambassador Al Rahbi described the office as a symbol of economic diplomacy. He noted its role in Oman’s global trade network and in building ties across vital sectors. These sectors include technology, clean energy, and industry.
U.S. Ambassador Ana Escrogima praised the office’s role in enhancing competitiveness. Saud Ahmed Al Nahari added that Omani firms will receive market support and tailored advice.
Zakariya Abdullah Al Saadi said the office will improve export competitiveness. Amy Hahn introduced a digital platform and announced two new programs for business support.
