Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held separate telephone conversations with his Jordanian and Qatari counterparts to discuss rising regional tensions and efforts to prevent further escalation.
During his call with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the two officials reviewed recent developments and their impact on regional security and stability.
They stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis, prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions, and prevent the region from sliding into wider confrontation. Both ministers also underscored the importance of respecting international law, protecting freedom of navigation, safeguarding the interests of all peoples, and preserving the sovereignty and stability of states.
In a separate conversation, Al Busaidi spoke with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
The two ministers discussed ongoing mediation efforts and diplomatic contacts aimed at easing tensions and creating conditions for a sustainable agreement between the parties involved.
Their discussions also focused on ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and restoring the stability of global supply chains.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and close regional and international coordination to address the underlying causes of tension and strengthen long-term peace and stability in the region.
