Oman Energy Output Grows Despite Price Pressures

The Oman gas production rise reflects steady growth in the country’s energy sector. Moreover, Oman recorded higher gas output despite global price pressures. In addition, oil production and exports also increased during the same period.

The Oman gas production rise reached 8.77 billion cubic meters by the end of February. This marks a 1.3 percent increase compared to the previous year. Furthermore, official data confirms steady expansion in energy output.

Non-associated gas played a major role in this growth. It increased by 4.3 percent to 6.94 billion cubic meters. Meanwhile, associated gas from oil extraction declined during the same period.

In contrast, associated gas production dropped by 8.5 percent. This fall reached 1.83 billion cubic meters. However, overall growth still remained positive due to stronger non-associated output.

Additionally, industrial gas consumption increased across key sectors. For example, industrial projects recorded a 6.2 percent rise in usage. Consequently, demand continued to strengthen within the domestic economy.

Gas consumption in power generation also rose significantly. It increased by 13.2 percent year-on-year. Therefore, electricity production remained heavily dependent on natural gas supply.

Some sectors showed declines in gas usage. Oil field consumption dropped by 20.8 percent. Moreover, industrial zones recorded a sharper decline of nearly 30 percent.

Despite these shifts, oil sector performance remained strong. Crude exports increased by 2.2 percent. Furthermore, total oil production rose by 3.8 percent during the reporting period.

Daily oil output reached around 1.02 million barrels. This marks an increase from the previous year’s average. Consequently, Oman maintained stable production levels in a challenging market.

Global price trends affected revenues. Average crude prices fell by 13.1 percent. Therefore, lower international prices limited overall earnings despite higher output.

The Oman gas production rise highlights the country’s effort to balance production and market conditions. Moreover, the energy sector continues adapting to geopolitical and economic pressures. In addition, Oman maintains a focus on long-term stability and supply security.

The Oman gas production rise shows resilience in both gas and oil sectors. It also reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen economic performance. As a result, Oman continues reinforcing its role in regional energy markets.
