Oman Air has reached a record load factor of 88% in January 2025. This achievement shows how efficiently the airline has used its seat capacity. The airline filled a significant percentage of its available seats across 41 destinations. In fact, some routes had load factors as high as 95%, outperforming the global average of 83.5% for 2024, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Business Class occupancy also saw impressive results, with 77% of seats filled.
This record load factor is part of Oman Air’s strategy to increase its point-to-point market share. By attracting more tourists to Oman, the airline aims to support the country’s economic goals.
CEO Con Korfiatis expressed pride in the airline’s progress, saying, “We’re extremely proud of this record load factor, which reflects our strong network and the positive impact of recent changes. As we approach the summer season, we see solid booking momentum. We aim to sustain this growth by delivering excellent service and offering more travel options.”
This success follows Oman Air’s transformation strategy, which began in 2023. The goal is to achieve financial breakeven within three years. In 2024, the airline made significant strides, thanks to a detailed network study and focus on profitable routes. Additionally, a fleet modernization program helped introduce more efficient aircraft while retiring older, less cost-effective models.
Oman Air operates over 40 destinations with a mix of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft. It offers three cabin classes and diverse fare options. The airline continues to uphold high quality and reliability standards. Throughout 2024, Oman Air maintained one of the highest On-Time Performance rankings globally, solidifying its reputation as a trusted airline.
