Taiwan National Normal University (NTNU) recently welcomed Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi and youth ambassadors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a special educational symposium. The event, held in Taipei last week, focused on strengthening cooperation and fostering educational exchanges between Taiwan and the UAE. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi’s visit to NTNU marked a significant step toward building stronger educational bridges.

The forum, titled Talent Cultivation for Sustainable Transformation, took place on May 6. During the event, Al Nuaimi promoted dialogue and collaboration in education. According to CNA, the visit also included a tour of the NTNU campus, where the guests experienced live performances by students from the university’s music department. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi’s visit to NTNU highlighted the importance of cultural and academic exchange in building international partnerships.

NTNU President Wu Cheng-chih warmly welcomed Sheikh Al Nuaimi and 11 youth representatives to Taiwan. He expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its continued support of educational exchange programs with Taiwanese universities. Wu also emphasized his hope for expanded opportunities for student collaboration in the future. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi’s visit to NTNU demonstrated the mutual commitment to enhancing learning experiences across borders.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi, famously known as the “Green Sheikh,” is the nephew of the ruler of Ajman, one of the seven emirates in the UAE. He has earned recognition for his environmental advocacy and currently serves as an environmental advisor to the Ajman government and the UAE. His commitment to sustainable development aligns with the themes discussed during the NTNU symposium.

Throughout the event, students and faculty from NTNU, National Taiwan University, and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology engaged in discussions. They explored topics such as sustainable development, cultural exchange, and opportunities for future collaboration. In recent years, students from these universities have traveled to partner schools in the UAE, participating in cultural and educational exchanges. These programs reflect both Taiwan and the UAE’s commitment to global learning.

During his address, Sheikh Al Nuaimi emphasized his dedication to advancing education for young people. He expressed his hope that Taiwan and the UAE would collaborate more closely to provide scholarships and expand exchange opportunities. His words underscored a shared vision of educational growth and cultural understanding.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi’s visit to NTNU symbolizes a bridge between Taiwan and the UAE. Both nations are working to create more educational pathways and stronger cultural ties.
