The new batch students joining the Military Technological College this week marked the start of another academic cycle. The Ministry of Higher Education’s central admission process placed the students whom the college officially welcomed.
To begin with, these new batch students must complete essential entry steps. This includes written assessments, medical checks, and face-to-face interviews. Each step ensures the right candidates progress into the foundation year.
During the foundation year, students will take classes in English, mathematics, physics, and computer science. These subjects prepare them for future engineering studies. Additionally, the college includes hands-on learning through labs and technical workshops.
Students will later be placed into engineering specialisations. Placement depends on their performance during the foundation year, personal preferences, and the demands of the military or related institutions. This alignment ensures national priorities remain a core part of the educational process.
After completing three years of specialised engineering study, students will graduate with an Advanced Diploma. This qualification equips them with both theoretical knowledge and applied skills.
For the first time this year, the college also opened its doors to students not linked to employment contracts. This option is open to both male and female students. Male students will receive on-campus housing. Female students will benefit from arranged transportation, helping ensure safety and convenience.
The new batch students in this track are expected to arrive in the coming days. This expansion reflects the college’s commitment to building a well-rounded and inclusive academic environment.
By preparing students with both knowledge and technical experience, the Military Technological College supports national development. Its graduates will eventually contribute to Oman’s public and private sectors with strong engineering expertise.
Through a mix of academic learning, technical skill-building, and national service alignment, the Military Technological College continues to serve as a vital institution for Oman’s future.
