Nepal Embassy Hosts Beach Clean-up in Muscat

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat has organised a Peace Walk and beach clean-up activity at Qurum Beach, bringing together members of the Nepali community and international participants to mark International Everest Day.

The event, held early in the morning along the coastal area of Qurum, included a walk followed by a beach cleaning campaign aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community engagement. Participants included representatives from Nepali social organisations, as well as residents and supporters from other communities in Oman.

Officials from the embassy said the initiative was intended to strengthen ties within the Nepali diaspora while also encouraging environmental responsibility in public spaces. Such community-led activities are increasingly seen across Gulf countries, where expatriate groups often play a visible role in social and environmental initiatives.

Ambassador Dornath Aryal thanked participants for their involvement, highlighting the importance of collective action in improving the community’s image and fostering unity among Nepalis living in Oman.

The event coincided with Nepal’s Republic Day, which was also marked at the embassy with a separate ceremony. During the occasion, the national flag was hoisted and cultural participation from community members reflected Nepal’s traditions and national identity.

Separately, the embassy also introduced an e-Museum initiative aimed at preserving historical documents and making information about Nepal’s heritage more accessible online, reflecting a growing digital shift in diplomatic outreach.

The combination of cultural celebration and environmental activity underscored the role of embassies in the Gulf region not only as diplomatic missions but also as community and cultural hubs for expatriate populations.
