Nearly 70,000 Traffic Violations Recorded in Kuwait Over Eight Days

The General Directorate of Traffic and the Operations Sector of Kuwait’s Public Security Forces recorded a total of 69,698 traffic violations over a period of eight days. The period was from March 29 to April 4.

According to official statistics, traffic officers referred 87 individuals to authorities, including 59 who were detained. They also impounded 26 vehicles and 18 motorbikes. Additionally, they seized 42 wanted vehicles and 52 others that were being searched for. In total, officers issued 54,849 traffic citations during the period.

Additionally, the report noted that traffic officers responded to 3,005 road reports and referred 1,387 incidents to relevant departments.

Separate statistics from the Najda Police Department, covering March 30 to April 5, reported the referral of 31 individuals to the General Directorate for Drug Control. These individuals were found in possession of substances suspected to be drugs. The department also arrested 252 individuals for various legal violations, including 73 without identification documents. Moreover, they seized 96 wanted vehicles.

Police also responded to 401 humanitarian cases and intervened in several public disturbances. They handled 146 traffic accidents and responded to 3 hit-and-run cases. In total, 14,849 traffic violations were recorded, and 21 vehicles were impounded.

As reported, Kuwait saw 69,698 traffic violations within just eight days. This figure highlights the intensity of law enforcement efforts and public safety monitoring across the country.
