Muharraq Municipal Council Plans Major Infrastructure and Community Improvements

The Muharraq Municipal Council is advancing plans to improve roads, public facilities, and safety across the governorate. From the start, Muharraq urban development initiatives guide the council’s approach to enhance traffic, community spaces, and local infrastructure.

The council will review proposals to improve road networks, including entrances for petrol stations and paving streets in Al-Busaiteen and Samaheej. These plans aim to reduce congestion, prevent rainwater accumulation, and improve overall road safety. Additionally, the council will discuss adjusting road levels and repairing uneven surfaces to ease residents’ hardships.

Property allocations for community use are also on the agenda. One proposal recommends constructing a wedding hall with parking in the Al-Dair area to meet growing social needs. Similarly, upgrades at Samaheej Sports Club and cemetery walls will improve public spaces and preserve heritage sites.

To maintain safety, the council will examine restrictions on gatherings and unregulated activities in residential areas. These measures aim to prevent disturbances and protect residents. At the same time, officials will consider adding umbrellas and shaded areas near schools to improve student safety.

Traffic safety will receive special attention, particularly on Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge and Street 24 in Samaheej. The council plans to extend truck restrictions, reposition light poles, and repave damaged roads. These actions will improve traffic flow and reduce accident risks.

The council also plans to rehabilitate abandoned buildings by replacing wooden panels with bricks. This change will prevent illegal activity and enhance the governorate’s appearance. At the same time, it ensures public safety and compliance with regulations.

Finally, compensation requests related to expropriation and public works will be reviewed. Officials will ensure fairness while following legal guidelines. These steps, together with street improvements and property projects, reflect Muharraq urban development initiatives.

By implementing these measures, the council aims to boost road safety, improve infrastructure, and enhance residents’ quality of life. Ultimately, Muharraq urban development initiatives show proactive governance and a clear vision for sustainable urban growth.
