The Madinah Health Cluster has introduced a new emergency scooter service at the Prophet’s Mosque. This initiative aims to improve medical care during Ramadan, a time when the mosque sees large crowds. As thousands of worshippers gather, moving swiftly through the busy areas becomes difficult for medical teams. Therefore, using scooters will help paramedics navigate the crowd more easily. This service will also allow them to attend to urgent cases and transport patients to hospitals if necessary.
The scooters provide a faster way to respond to emergencies. They will enable paramedics to quickly reach those who need immediate care. Since its launch, 91 people have already benefited from this service. These individuals were referred to healthcare facilities like Al-Shifa Health Endowment and the Haram Emergency Hospital. Additionally, patients were taken to the Safiyyah and Bab Jibreel Urgent Care Centers.
The initiative reflects the Madinah Health Cluster’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the safety and well-being of the many visitors who come to the mosque each year. Medical teams can now offer faster treatment and move patients to the appropriate care facilities. The service aims to reduce delays in emergency care, ensuring that all visitors receive the attention they need without unnecessary wait times.
This service is particularly important during Ramadan, when the mosque is filled with worshippers from around the world. The ability to provide rapid medical assistance is crucial for the safety of everyone. The scooters will help paramedics attend to a larger number of people, reducing the strain on emergency services in the area.
As the service continues, it will undoubtedly improve the medical response at the Prophet’s Mosque. It is expected that this new system will not only assist during Ramadan but also during other busy times throughout the year.
