Kuwait’s PIFSS Supports Retirees with Exhibition and New Initiatives

Ahmed Al-Thunayan, Acting Director General of the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS), reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing advanced insurance services and announced that all outstanding salaries and contributions have been disbursed to retirees whose nationalities were withdrawn. This announcement was made at the opening of a pensioners’ exhibition in Mubarakiya, where retirees have the opportunity to showcase their handicraft products.

The exhibition, which features 60 pavilions displaying the creative projects of retirees, will be open until next Thursday. It is being held on the new street in Mubarakiya Market, a historically significant and lively area in Kuwait, providing retirees with the perfect platform to present their work to a broad audience.

Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, Governor of the Capital, attended the event and emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to its social duty towards retirees. He reaffirmed that the state is dedicated to providing comprehensive support, especially in community-related aspects. The governor also praised the retirees’ contributions to society, expressing deep gratitude for their lifelong service to the country.

Al-Thunayan highlighted the success of the exhibition, which has attracted considerable public attention, especially on its first day. He was pleased with the diverse range of products, which include crafts, luxury goods, food, and perfumes. The strategic location of the exhibition, nestled in one of Kuwait’s most famous markets, has greatly contributed to its success, allowing retirees to gain exposure and sell their products.

The event is part of PIFSS’s broader efforts to support retirees and encourage them to engage in entrepreneurial ventures. Al-Thunayan emphasized that providing retirees with opportunities to launch their own commercial projects is an essential part of the institution’s social responsibility.

Additionally, the PIFSS has provided free booths for the retirees to showcase their works, further underscoring its commitment to supporting this vital segment of the community.

Looking ahead, PIFSS plans to organize more activities and initiatives that benefit retirees, reflecting its ongoing commitment to societal well-being. The success of this first exhibition has set a positive precedent for future endeavors aimed at enhancing retirees’ quality of life and helping them remain active contributors to society.

The Governor of the Capital also provided updates on ongoing restoration efforts in the Al-Mubarakiya Market, which was damaged by fire, and revealed plans for new tourism and recreational projects in the Capital Governorate. These efforts are aimed at improving the quality of life for both citizens and residents, contributing to a better future for Kuwait.
