Kuwaiti families have shown remarkable solidarity by adopting 658 unidentified children under the Ministry of Social Affairs’ supervision, an initiative celebrated during Arab Orphan Day 2025. The event, themed “Our Future is Promising,” showcased the country’s ongoing efforts to support orphans and integrate them into society.
Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, stressed the ministry’s commitment to offering orphans equal educational and social opportunities, ensuring they become valuable contributors to the nation’s future. She emphasized that community cooperation is essential to providing a nurturing environment for orphans, highlighting the ministry’s role in empowering them and fostering their growth.
Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, praised the adoption program, noting that more than 30 families have participated in fostering children of unknown parentage. He affirmed that fostering is critical to helping orphans integrate into society, underlining Kuwait’s spirit of humanitarian solidarity.
During the celebration, Dr. Saad Al-Shabo, Director of the Family Fostering Department, highlighted the importance of Arab Orphan Day in reinforcing the rights of orphans. He emphasized that providing a stable and supportive environment for orphans is a national and humanitarian responsibility.
Dr. Al-Ajmi also announced the introduction of new criteria for awarding excellent work bonuses to ministry employees, focusing on transparency and merit. Additionally, he revealed the final stages of a cooperation protocol with the Public Authority for Manpower to Kuwaitize supervisory positions in cooperative societies, which will ensure a fair and transparent selection process through the “Fakhr” platform.
Kuwait’s commitment to supporting orphans and vulnerable groups continues to set a benchmark in the region, demonstrating a deep sense of social solidarity and responsibility.
