Kuwaiti Delegation Highlights Importance of International Cooperation at AI Summit in Paris

Paris – The Kuwaiti delegation at the “Working for Artificial Intelligence” summit in Paris underscored the critical role of global collaboration and knowledge exchange in AI governance. The group was led by Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Omar Al-Omar, representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The delegation emphasized the need for a unified international approach to AI development.

Najat Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology, highlighted the discussions on AI’s profound impact on societies. She stressed the importance of leveraging AI to enhance work efficiency, drive innovation, and support sustainable development goals. Additionally, she advocated for digital empowerment through the adoption of advanced technologies. She also promoted AI and cybersecurity awareness to improve government operations.

Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Fawzan, supervisor of studies and research at the agency, pointed out that the summit facilitated insightful discussions among senior officials and global leaders. These discussions explored pathways to encourage innovation and research in the fast-evolving AI sector.

Manal Al-Maziad, Acting Head of the Supervision Sector at the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology, reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to staying at the forefront of AI adoption. He emphasized that emerging technologies should contribute to national progress and benefit citizens

Furthermore, Sheikh Fahad Nayef Al-Sabah, Acting Head of the Arab and International Department at the Ministry of Communications, emphasized the importance of aligning international efforts to establish a robust regulatory framework. He called for responsible and sustainable AI usage. This would maximize its potential while mitigating associated risks.

The summit served as a platform for global stakeholders to discuss strategies for fostering innovation. They also focused on enhancing AI governance. The discussions ensured the ethical and responsible development of artificial intelligence worldwide.
