Kuwaiti Ambassador to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shemali, met with the Dean of the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service, Raj Kumar Srivastava, on Thursday. They explored ways to strengthen mutual cooperation between the Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute in Kuwait and the Sushma Swaraj Institute in India. The discussion centered on enhancing collaboration between the two institutions. They planned to exchange best practices in diplomatic training and education, as well as share activities and tasks of both institutes.
Ambassador Al-Shemali emphasized the participation of a Kuwaiti team in a diplomatic course at the Indian institute this month. The arrangements for their involvement were reviewed. He also highlighted the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute and the Sushma Swaraj Institute. This MoU aimed at fostering cooperation in diplomatic knowledge exchange and organizing specialized programs and academic activities.
The visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kuwait in December 2024 further reinforced the commitment to this partnership. Both sides agreed to organize a special training program for Kuwaiti diplomats at the Sushma Swaraj Institute in Delhi.
