Kuwait has updated the GCC energy media and joint strategies to strengthen regional collaboration and global energy messaging. The Ministry of Oil completed a comprehensive revision of the Energy Media Strategy and the Joint Energy Strategy for GCC countries (2012–2030).
Director of the Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamadher Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He explained that the update reflects outcomes from the GCC undersecretaries’ petroleum meeting held in Kuwait last September. She added that the revision moves from a purely petroleum focus toward a broader, integrated energy framework.
Furthermore, the updated strategies respond to rapid regional and international developments, ensuring they encompass multiple energy systems while keeping oil and gas as core components. She emphasized that the revisions align with energy security, energy transition, sustainability, and circular carbon economy concepts. This approach aims to enhance the GCC’s ability to deliver balanced, coherent messages globally.
In addition, Sheikha Tamadher Al-Sabah highlighted that the Ministry applied a structured methodology to implement the updates. The process aligned vision, objectives, policies, and mechanisms with the new framework. Consequently, media coordination across GCC countries has improved, and the strategies now correct misconceptions and reinforce unified Gulf positions.
Moreover, the update included a realignment of strategic frameworks, executive policies, and media programs. This step strengthens specialized media performance, improves coordination among petroleum media entities, and ensures a unified Gulf discourse at regional and international forums.
Sheikha Tamadher Al-Sabah also expressed gratitude to Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi for his guidance during the update. She reiterated Kuwait’s commitment to advancing joint Gulf action at both strategic and media levels. Furthermore, she noted that these initiatives reinforce Kuwait’s role as a reliable partner in stabilizing global energy markets.
Finally, through these updates, Kuwait continues to demonstrate leadership in supporting GCC cooperation, preparing for future energy challenges, and enhancing regional influence. The GCC energy media and joint strategies now position the Gulf for a stronger, coordinated, and sustainable energy presence worldwide.
