Kuwait Supports OFWs Battling Cancer Through Dedicated Fund

Kuwait recently hosted a ceremony to aid Filipino workers, proving that supporting OFWs in need remains a top priority. One hundred cancer patients received financial assistance from the DMW AKSYON Fund at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. This program reflects strong cooperation between Filipino organizations, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, and local welfare offices.

Officials personally handed the funds to the beneficiaries. The assistance helps cover medical expenses and eases pressure on families. The program belongs to the broader “Showing Gratitude and Building Opportunities” initiative, organized by the Kabayan Cancer Support Group, the Philippine Embassy, Migrant Workers Office–Kuwait, and the On-Site Welfare Office.

Local supporters praised the efforts to help overseas Filipinos. They emphasized that aiding workers with serious health issues shows gratitude for their contributions abroad. They encouraged the community to continue charitable initiatives that provide fast and practical help.

Representatives stressed that the President’s administration prioritizes supporting OFWs in need. They explained that programs now deliver faster, more accessible aid. These improvements assure overseas Filipino workers that they will not face hardships alone while away from home.

The initiative also ties in with the Bagong Bayani ng Mundo–OFW Serbisyo Caravan in Kuwait. This program brings government services closer to Filipinos worldwide. It offers legal, medical, and social support wherever they live. Officials confirmed that these efforts empower the Filipino community and address urgent needs such as healthcare and financial aid.

Organizers ended the ceremony by encouraging beneficiaries. They reaffirmed that programs like this demonstrate the nation’s commitment to supporting OFWs in need. They also expressed hope that future programs will expand coverage, reach more patients, and provide consistent assistance for overseas workers facing challenges.

Programs like these show how Kuwait supports effective welfare services abroad. They highlight care, solidarity, and respect for Filipino workers.
