Kuwait Signs China Deal for Kabd Wastewater Plant

Kuwait has signed a contract with China to build, operate and maintain the Kabd North Wastewater Treatment Plant and its associated facilities, marking the second cooperation agreement between the two countries.

The signing ceremony took place on Sunday under the patronage of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan signed the agreement on behalf of Kuwait in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin.

The project is part of Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen its infrastructure, improve wastewater treatment services and support environmental sustainability. It also aims to meet the demands of urban expansion while advancing the country’s long-term development goals.

Several senior officials attended the ceremony, including First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Acting Head of the Prime Minister’s Diwan Sheikh Khaled Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works Eid Al-Rashidi.
