Kuwait Says One Killed in Iranian Missile, Drone Attack

Kuwait said on Wednesday that one person was killed and others were injured following a wave of Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting civilian and vital infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport.

Authorities confirmed that air traffic was suspended after the strikes, with flights diverted to alternative airports while emergency teams assessed the damage. Officials said the passenger terminal and other key facilities were affected, alongside reported damage to diplomatic premises.

The incident comes amid a sharp escalation in regional tensions, Kuwait says one killed in Iranian missile, drone attack emerging in official statements describing the latest wave of strikes. Kuwait’s foreign ministry strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of sovereignty and international law, and describing the situation as a serious threat to national security.

Iran said the strikes were aimed at US military-related targets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including facilities linked to the US Fifth Fleet. Meanwhile, the United States said it had intercepted incoming missiles and drones and carried out retaliatory strikes on Iranian positions, further intensifying the confrontation.

The developments have raised wider concerns across the Gulf, as regional states call for de-escalation amid fears of further spillover affecting civilian infrastructure and energy routes.
