Kuwait, Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Strong Bilateral Ties

Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their close ties during an official visit by Saudi Minister of State Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Kuwait, where regional security and bilateral relations featured prominently in discussions.

Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received the Saudi minister and his delegation on Tuesday. During the meeting, Prince Turki conveyed greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with their wishes for Kuwait’s continued prosperity and stability.

The Kuwaiti Crown Prince asked the visiting minister to extend his greetings to the Saudi leadership, expressing hopes for the Kingdom’s continued development and the well-being of its people.

Senior officials from both countries attended the meeting, including Kuwait’s Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud.

Separately, the Saudi Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Kuwait and Bahrain following recent regional security developments. During a Cabinet session in Jeddah chaired by King Salman, ministers condemned attacks targeting the two Gulf states, as well as threats to maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Saudi Cabinet, the attacks violate international law and the UN Charter. The Kingdom reiterated its full support for measures taken by Kuwait and Bahrain to protect their sovereignty, security and stability.

The Cabinet also welcomed the outcomes of the recent Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-United States ministerial meeting held in Bahrain, highlighting the importance of continued coordination among allies to strengthen regional security and safeguard shared interests.

Prince Turki concluded his official visit later on Tuesday and departed Kuwait after being seen off at the airport by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and other senior officials.
