Kuwait Relief Society Launches Food Aid Distribution for Displaced People in Sudan

On Saturday, the Kuwait Relief Society, in collaboration with the Al-Ihsan Charity Society, began distributing 100 tons of food aid in 2,000 baskets to displaced people in Kassala State. Kassala State is located in eastern Sudan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kassala’s Deputy Governor Omar Osman, Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Idris Ali, and Director of Al-Ihsan Society Idris Hamid Kassala.

Deputy Governor Omar Osman Adam expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Kuwait, commending its ongoing support for Sudan and its people. He emphasized the strong, brotherly relationship between Sudan and Kuwait. He also acknowledged the vital role of humanitarian organizations in providing essential assistance to those in need.

Kassala State’s Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Idris Ali, praised the food aid project. He highlighted its timeliness and significance in meeting the urgent needs of the affected population. He also extended his gratitude to the Gulf countries and other friendly nations for their solidarity and support. This support is particularly significant in the face of Sudan’s ongoing hardships caused by conflict.

Idris Hamid, the Director of Al-Ihsan Society, expressed his sincere thanks to the Kuwait Relief Society for their unwavering support. This support is critical for the displaced in Sudan. He highlighted the importance of partnership in such humanitarian efforts. He noted that their combined efforts are crucial in addressing the needs of those suffering from the effects of the war.
