In a significant move aligned with the Amiri Decree No. 33 of 2025, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the pardon of 781 prisoners on Sunday, marking the country’s 64th National Day celebrations. The decision reflects the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The pardon, which reduces the sentences of the prisoners, was implemented in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. The minister emphasized the State’s commitment to supporting the released individuals, encouraging them to take advantage of this second chance and adhere to the law.
Sheikh Fahad Yusuf stressed the importance of contributing to the development and stability of society. He called for the creation of an office to facilitate the reintegration of the pardoned prisoners into society, offering them the necessary support to ensure their rehabilitation and a smooth transition to a responsible and law-abiding life.
This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Amiri Diwan, Public Prosecution, and the MoI, aiming to accelerate the release process and promote social stability.
