The military funeral took place at Sulaibikhat cemetery, attended by senior officials, officers, personnel, and citizens. Moreover, the event highlighted the country’s deep respect for national service and sacrifice.

Leading the mourners was First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah. He was joined by Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lt Gen Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib and senior ministry officials. Together, they extended condolences to Colonel Al-Khamsan’s family, expressing the nation’s gratitude for his dedication.

The minister praised the duty martyr Colonel Al-Khamsan as a model of sincerity and commitment. Furthermore, Lt Gen Al-Wuhaib said duty martyrs will remain symbols of selflessness and loyalty. Their contributions reflect the highest values of service and belonging, he added.

Colonel Al-Khamsan sustained injuries during a fire on January 11 at the general administration of correctional institutions in Sulaibiya. The blaze affected several personnel, including police officers and cleaning staff. Emergency teams from the Kuwait Fire Force and medical authorities responded quickly and brought the fire under control.

In addition, officials highlighted that the incident underscores the risks faced daily by those protecting public safety. They also emphasized the importance of readiness, teamwork, and resilience in responding to emergencies. As a result, the nation recognized the value of courage, dedication, and duty exemplified by the fallen officer.

The funeral and public tributes demonstrate Kuwait’s commitment to honoring those who sacrifice for security and stability. Overall, the legacy of the duty martyr Colonel Al-Khamsan will continue to inspire service, loyalty, and national pride for years to come.
