Kuwait is expanding its Sahel platform to make legal and healthcare services easier for citizens and residents. The Sahel platform now enables users to complete essential government procedures online, reflecting Kuwait’s push for modern, efficient services.
The Ministry of Interior launched the ‘Status Adjustment’ service on Sahel. It also allows individuals whose citizenship was revoked under Article 5, and their dependents, to submit all required documents online. Applicants with passports from their country of origin should select the Status Adjustment option. Those without passports can upload supporting documents under Proof of Seriousness.
After selecting Status Adjustment, users can attach a passport copy before submitting electronically. Additionally, applicants can ask questions or submit complaints through Sahel. Follow-ups are handled by telephone. Service hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Ministry of Health also added a new service on Sahel. Patients can now instantly receive decisions on overseas treatment. This change saves time, improves transparency, and supports Kuwait’s digital healthcare goals. The service informs patients immediately once the Higher Committee issues results, removing the need for in-person visits. It also protects data and reduces administrative work.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Justice introduced two digital services on Sahel: Family Insurance Fund Certificates and Court of Cassation Ruling Copies. Citizens can request certificates confirming the absence of a file and get certified court ruling copies online. These services save time, reduce trips to offices, and speed up legal processes.
In addition, the Ministry of Justice started the second phase of its legal personnel training program. The program, in partnership with the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, trains staff to detect and investigate public fund violations. It includes lectures and workshops from judicial experts. Between January and June 2025, officials recorded 107 cases of public fund violations across 34 entities, showing the importance of strong oversight.
So, the Sahel platform continues to modernize public services, making legal and healthcare procedures simpler and faster. Its expansion shows Kuwait’s commitment to efficient governance and better service for citizens.
