Kuwait Council of Ministers Holds Weekly Meeting, Reviews Key Topics and Approves Initiatives

The Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, at Bayan Palace, chaired by His Excellency the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

During the meeting, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida Abdullah Al-Muasherji, briefed the council on the outcomes of the Acting Prime Minister’s recent tour to Egypt, Jordan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. In Cairo, Sheikh Fahad met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, while in Amman, he held discussions with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan. His visit to Muscat included a meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, and in Abu Dhabi, he met with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the field of security, and addressing common regional concerns.

The Council also reviewed a visual presentation on the Government Communication Center’s plan for 2025/2026, presented by the Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman Badah Al-Mutairi. The presentation highlighted the center’s goals for enhancing government communication and outreach.

Additionally, the Council reviewed a presentation on the Housing Welfare Sustainability Program by the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Hamed Al-Mishari. The program focuses on ensuring sustainable housing for Kuwaiti citizens, with an emphasis on finding innovative solutions to housing needs.

In a separate matter, the Council strongly condemned recent derogatory remarks made by the Israeli Prime Minister against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Council reaffirmed Kuwait’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and stability and reiterated its commitment to the Palestinian cause, particularly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Council also reviewed and approved several other agenda items, referring some matters to relevant ministerial committees for further study and necessary action.
