Kuwait and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Ties with Landmark Agreements

Kuwait and Saudi Arabia strengthened their partnership by signing four major agreements. These agreements highlight growing economic, social, and technological cooperation. They focus on economy and planning, public-private partnerships, science and technology, and media. This demonstrates Kuwait and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable development and regional progress.

The signing took place during the third meeting of the Kuwait-Saudi Coordination Council in Riyadh. Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan co-chaired the meeting. Together, they emphasized the shared vision for long-term growth and collaboration.

Furthermore, Kuwaiti Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Nimr Fahad Al-Sabah, explained that the MoU on economy and planning strengthens governance, leadership, and green and digital economy initiatives. He added that it also helps achieve Sustainable Development Goals through joint studies and technical exchanges.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance Undersecretary Aseel Al-Munifi highlighted the MoUs on public-private partnerships and science and technology. The PPP agreement focuses on exchanging regulatory, technical, and legislative expertise. Additionally, it encourages joint workshops, business exchanges, and conference participation.

The science and technology MoU promotes innovation through researcher exchanges, collaborative projects, and scientific events. Consequently, Kuwaiti and Saudi institutions can share knowledge and strengthen research cooperation.

In addition, Kuwaiti Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr Nasser Al-Muhaisen, said the media MoU boosts Gulf media partnerships. It covers content development, program exchanges, joint production, and training initiatives. Moreover, the agreement supports Gulf media’s role in national and Arab development.

On the security front, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Maj Gen Ali Al-Adwani, reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to defense, crime prevention, and cybersecurity. The Joint Military and Security Coordination Committee discussed strategic planning to maintain stability and protect shared interests.

Overall, these four agreements underline Kuwait and Saudi Arabia’s cooperation. Through these initiatives, the nations aim to accelerate development, foster innovation, and enhance regional stability. Their close coordination shows how partnerships can deliver lasting economic, social, and technological progress.
