Senior Kuwaiti defence officials have held talks with French counterparts in Paris aimed at strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and expanding strategic ties between the two countries.
The discussions took place during the Eurosatory 2026 defence exhibition, one of the world’s leading events for military industries and technology, according to a statement from Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence Sheikh Dr Abdullah Meshal Al-Sabah met senior French officials, including Alice Rufo, Minister Delegate to the French Minister of the Armed Forces, as well as Gen Vincent Giraud, military adviser to the French President.
The meetings focused on reviewing long-standing relations between Kuwait and France, and exploring ways to enhance cooperation in defence and military fields. Officials also exchanged views on regional developments and issues of shared concern.
Sheikh Dr Abdullah conveyed greetings from Kuwait’s Defence Minister and expressed appreciation for the reception extended to the Kuwaiti delegation, the ministry said.
The delegation also visited the Eurosatory exhibition, where they reviewed the latest developments in defence systems and military technologies, and met representatives from international defence companies.
At the end of the visit, Sheikh Dr Abdullah met Kuwaiti ministry personnel receiving medical treatment in France, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to monitoring their condition and maintaining contact with them.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts by both sides to deepen strategic cooperation and strengthen defence relations within a broader international partnership framework.
