Kuwait and China Finalize Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port Deal

Kuwait and China are set to finalize the long-awaited Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port agreements today. This is a key milestone in the development of the port. It will serve as a major regional transportation hub and economic driver. The signing of the executive program agreement will pave the way for the project’s execution. It will outline key details, including the start date for construction and the management and operational terms for the port.

The agreement involves two primary entities: Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works and China’s Ministry of Transport. The project will adhere to the highest international standards. It will focus on creating a secure regional corridor and fostering regional commercial growth.

This project has been a key part of Kuwait’s development strategy. It aims to enhance the economic and urban development of the northern region. It will also contribute to diversifying the country’s economy. The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port is expected to significantly boost Kuwait’s gross domestic product (GDP). It will transform the region into a commercial hub.

The agreements are scheduled to be signed in the presence of Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan and a Chinese government delegation. The discussions will confirm the timeline for the port’s construction. They will also detail the operational responsibilities for the coming phases of the project. This agreement follows the approval of a decree-law in December by the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers. This law formalized Kuwait-China cooperation on the project.

Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah has reiterated that the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port is a critical part of Kuwait’s infrastructure development. It will play a significant role in the country’s long-term economic goals.
