King Hamad Global Centre Expands Vision for Global Coexistence

King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence reaffirmed its mission during the third Board of Trustees meeting held in Bahrain. The gathering focused on promoting peace, dialogue, and shared human values through national and international partnerships.

The meeting began with a review of recent initiatives led by the Centre. These include educational and training programs designed to foster tolerance and cultural understanding. Leaders emphasized expanding these efforts to meet global challenges and changing social dynamics.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the Centre’s growing cooperation with international organizations. A key guest of honor was the Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This visit reflected the Centre’s commitment to building effective partnerships for global peace.

The board discussed the Centre’s involvement in key international forums. Its recommendation on “Establishing Guiding Principles for Coexistence” was included in the Rome Declaration. This followed the United Nations’ adoption of the Centre’s proposal to create the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence.

In addition, Bahrain’s election to the UN Security Council for 2026–2027 marked global recognition of the country’s peace-building efforts. The Centre plays a central role in advancing that mission.

King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence also plans to launch an “Ethical Charter for Coexistence.” Religious leaders, scholars, and policymakers will help shape this initiative. The charter aims to serve as a foundation for future international agreements.

The board also praised the Centre’s collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Together, they are implementing the “Science Schools for Peace” initiative. However, the project uses modern science and technology to support humanitarian development and mutual respect.

Leaders urged global action on new royal initiatives. These include an international conference on peace and a treaty to regulate artificial intelligence. They also called for a global agreement to criminalize religious and racist hate speech.

The executive director presented recent achievements, including educational programs that promote equality, respect, and social unity.

In conclusion, the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence continues to stand as a voice for peace. Its efforts to promote understanding, cooperation, and tolerance remain vital in today’s divided world.
