Kimnkate delivered a sensational late surge to capture the Al Ghariyah Cup, the feature race of the day. This occurred during the 44th Al Rayyan Race Meeting held at Al Rayyan Racecourse.
The five-year-old mare, owned by Al Hajaj Stud and trained by Hamad Al-Jehani, was superbly ridden by jockey Szczepan Mazur. He timed the finish perfectly in the 1200m sprint for Thoroughbred Fillies and Mares. Deputy Director of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) Registration & Studbook Department, Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, presented the trophy to the winning team.
The day featured a total of seven races. Trainer Jassim Ghazali and jockey Marco Casamento secured a double. Ghanem won the Purebred Arabian Handicap 70–90 (Class 3). Meanwhile, Liable narrowly edged out Salah Al Deen in a photo finish to take the Thoroughbred Maiden Plate (Class 6).
Trainer Mohammed Ghazali also celebrated a double. Pierre Charles Boudot rode Due To Dance to victory in the Thoroughbred Handicap 50–70 (Class 5). This was followed by Thayir’s win in the Purebred Arabian Novice Plate (Class 5).
In other results, Al Hattan, trained by Khalifa Hamed Nasser Al Sawai and ridden by Pranil Arvind Kharat, won the Local Thoroughbred Maiden Plate (Class 6). Meanwhile, Abdulla Rashid Al-Hajri guided Jaazmina Du Soleil to triumph in the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for Fillies and Mares (Class 6).
The race day once again highlighted the depth of talent across Qatar’s racing scene. Dramatic finishes and standout performances thrilled the crowds.
