Khareef Season Readiness in Focus as Dhofar Officials Review Progress

Khareef season readiness remains a priority for Dhofar authorities, who continue efforts to improve services during the busy monsoon period. On Monday, officials held a follow-up meeting at the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion in Salalah.

The session brought together representatives from both public institutions and private companies. Their goal was to assess operations supporting Khareef tourism and ensure high service standards for residents and visitors alike.

Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, chaired the meeting. He began by stressing the importance of maintaining stable supplies of key goods. Moreover, he urged stronger monitoring of commercial outlets to guarantee price control and service quality.

He also encouraged retail businesses to promote electronic payment systems. This step would help ease crowding at cash registers and support digital adoption across Dhofar’s markets.

In addition, the discussion focused on temporary business licenses. Officials emphasized the need to maintain streamlined procedures for seasonal businesses. These licenses allow companies to respond quickly to higher demand during the Khareef season.

Fuel availability was also addressed. The undersecretary directed petroleum marketers to check station readiness daily. He urged them to guarantee fuel access at all hours to avoid supply disruptions.

He further noted that the special nature of the Khareef season demands fast, coordinated responses. On top of that, he called on teams to work beyond regular hours when needed to keep services running smoothly.

Khareef season readiness efforts also include ensuring local infrastructure can meet rising demand. Officials discussed ways to improve logistical coordination and ensure clean, accessible facilities across key sites.

As the meeting closed, participants agreed to continue joint coordination throughout the season. They reaffirmed their goal of maintaining strong public services and economic activity across the governorate.

In conclusion, khareef season readiness reflects a broad commitment to enhancing tourism and community well-being in Dhofar. Through daily monitoring and unified action, authorities aim to provide an exceptional experience for all.
