Khareef Dhofar Visitors Rise 7 Percent in 2025

Khareef Dhofar visitors reached 442,100 between June 21 and July 31, 2025, marking a 7 percent rise from last year. This growth reflects the season’s enduring appeal and its ability to draw diverse travelers from Oman, GCC countries, and beyond.

Omani tourists led the increase, with their numbers surging by 75.6 percent to 334,399 during this period. Visitors from other GCC states totaled 69,801, while 37,900 came from other parts of the world. This shift highlights the region’s growing domestic and regional tourism pull.

Most Khareef Dhofar visitors arrived by land, totaling 334,846 by the end of July 2025. However, air arrivals also recorded growth, reaching 107,254 and showing a 10.9 percent increase compared to the same time last year. This trend points to improved air connectivity and greater travel convenience for international tourists.

The majority of Khareef Dhofar visitors came in July. Data shows that 95.3 percent visited between July 1 and July 31, while only 4.7 percent arrived between June 21 and June 30. This concentration underlines July’s position as the peak month for the monsoon season.

The rise in Khareef Dhofar visitors reflects the season’s unique natural and cultural appeal. The lush landscapes, cool climate, and cultural activities attract travelers looking for an escape from summer heat. Regional tourism operators have also capitalized on this demand by offering tailored packages and promotions.

Local businesses, from hotels to markets, benefit significantly from this influx. Increased spending from tourists boosts Dhofar’s economy and supports seasonal employment opportunities. Improved infrastructure and event planning have further enhanced the visitor experience.

Tourism authorities are expected to continue investing in marketing campaigns to sustain the momentum. With both land and air arrivals increasing, Khareef Dhofar is set to remain a cornerstone of Oman’s tourism calendar.

As the 2025 season progresses, the steady rise in Khareef Dhofar visitors signals strong prospects for the remainder of the year. The growth underscores the governorate’s potential to draw even larger numbers in the future, strengthening its role as a premier destination in the region.
