Khareef Dhofar Visitors Reach 827,115 in 2025

The number of Khareef Dhofar visitors reached about 827,115 between June 21 and August 15, 2025. This figure reflects a 2.1 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024. The total then reached 810,085. The preliminary estimates confirm a positive start to the tourism season.

Domestic tourism played a central role in the surge. Omani visitors numbered 591,577, marking a significant rise of 71.5 percent. Regional tourism also contributed strongly. Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council countries reached 143,431 during the same period. Moreover, tourists of other nationalities added 92,107 to the total count.

Travel routes also showed shifting patterns. By August 15, around 639,962 people entered Dhofar by land. At the same time, 187,153 visitors arrived by air. This represented a 15.5 percent increase compared with last year’s figures. The growth highlights expanding transport access and rising travel confidence.

The tourism season recorded remarkable concentration in early August. Between August 1 and August 15 alone, 46.5 percent of the total visitors arrived. This surge underscored Dhofar’s appeal during peak season. Additionally, it highlighted the strength of promotional campaigns and favorable seasonal conditions.

The rise in Khareef Dhofar visitors carries important implications for local development. Hotels, restaurants, and transport services benefited from the larger crowds. Local markets also saw increased sales of food, crafts, and cultural products. Families across Dhofar enjoyed higher income opportunities during the season.

The increase also shows growing recognition of Dhofar’s unique natural beauty. The misty weather, green landscapes, and cooler climate attract both domestic and regional travelers. Tourists continue to see Dhofar as a distinct seasonal destination.

Moving forward, tourism officials expect the numbers to grow further. They plan to enhance infrastructure and strengthen service quality. With better facilities, Khareef Dhofar visitors may rise even more in coming years.

In conclusion, the 2025 season reinforced Dhofar’s position as a leading summer destination. The rising number of Khareef Dhofar visitors shows strong demand, cultural pride, and a thriving tourism economy.
