The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, part of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), has wrapped up its Pre-University Qualification Program (PRE). The initiative ran from August 9 to 18 in collaboration with Kuwait University’s Faculties of Medicine and Engineering.
The program focused on students from grades 10 to 12 for the 2025/2026 academic year. Its aim was clear: to give young learners practical exposure before choosing their university majors. Through lectures, workshops, and field visits, students gained insight into real academic and professional environments.
This first edition was not limited to Kuwait. Participants also came from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. As a result, the program encouraged cultural exchange and strengthened regional ties.
The medicine track featured topics such as health sciences, anatomy, pharmacology, and general surgery. Meanwhile, the engineering track covered electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering. Organizers emphasized problem-solving skills and analytical thinking throughout both streams.
Students described the program as inspiring and eye-opening. Many highlighted how it allowed them to explore personal talents, meet motivated peers, and create lasting networks. They also experienced a simulation of university life, which helped them make informed decisions about future careers.
KFAS expressed pride in leading the initiative, calling it a vital step in nurturing the next generation of scientists, doctors, and engineers. Officials also praised Kuwait University for its support, which ensured the program’s success.
By exposing teenagers to advanced fields early, the KFAS program strengthens confidence and vision among young learners. In doing so, it sets the stage for stronger academic choices and professional growth across the region.
