Iraqi Airways Highlights Pilgrim Support Success

Iraqi Airways has completed a major operation to support thousands of Iraqi pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia. More than 17,000 travelers relied on the national carrier for a smooth Hajj travel experience. The airline managed 105 direct flights, ensuring that passengers reached their destination safely and efficiently.

Flights departed from various airports across Iraq and landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. This airport features a dedicated Hajj terminal designed to handle high volumes of pilgrims. Its proximity to Makkah made the journey easier for the passengers.

To ensure a smooth Hajj travel experience, Iraqi Airways operated five to six flights each day during the busiest weeks. These operations required close coordination between the airline, the Ministry of Transport, and the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah. Teams worked together to organize schedules, maintain aircraft readiness, and manage logistics.

Each flight followed a carefully prepared plan to avoid delays and reduce stress on pilgrims. Authorities supervised the operations closely to meet safety and service standards. As a result, the airline successfully managed large crowds without compromising comfort or care.

The Ministry of Transport, under the leadership of Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, played an essential role in overseeing the entire operation. From planning to execution, ministry officials monitored each stage to ensure that all pilgrims received timely service.

This year’s operation stands as a model for future pilgrimage seasons. It reflects growing capacity and better coordination in Iraq’s civil aviation sector. Officials aim to build on this success to support even larger numbers of pilgrims in coming years.

For every traveler, a smooth Hajj travel experience is crucial. Iraqi Airways’ efforts this year demonstrate a clear commitment to that goal. As the pilgrimage season concludes, the focus now shifts to return flights and future improvements.

By prioritizing planning and partnership, Iraq continues to support a smooth Hajj travel experience for its people.
