Iraq and France Strengthen Cooperation Ahead of Baghdad Conference

Iraq and France are intensifying their coordination for the upcoming Baghdad Conference for Cooperation, aiming to enhance regional stability and strengthen mutual partnerships. Baghdad Conference for Cooperation highlights both nations’ shared vision for development and dialogue.

During their meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and French President Emmanuel Macron reviewed detailed plans for the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation. The discussion covered key topics such as economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and defense collaboration. Both sides expressed strong interest in transforming their bilateral relations into long-term strategic cooperation.

Furthermore, they discussed new opportunities for French investment in Iraq’s energy, transportation, and water management sectors. France plans to send leading corporations to the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation, showcasing its readiness to contribute to Iraq’s modernization. This participation is expected to strengthen trade links and create fresh opportunities for joint projects.

The talks also covered the upcoming international event on Gaza’s reconstruction, which France will chair. Iraq reaffirmed its support for all humanitarian efforts aiming to rebuild Gaza and relieve civilian suffering. Both nations stressed the need for continuous coordination to ensure peace in the region.

Moreover, Iraq and France underlined their shared commitment to stability and regional dialogue. They agreed that regional cooperation, supported by active diplomacy, is the best path toward lasting peace. Their discussions reflected a growing consensus that the Middle East’s future depends on mutual respect, partnership, and open communication.

In addition, both countries emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid. They noted that dialogue and coordinated international efforts can prevent further escalation and foster regional balance.
