Iran Launches Missile And Drone Attacks Across Gulf

Iran launched a series of missile and drone attacks across parts of the Gulf on Sunday, targeting Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait, according to reports.

The attacks followed a new round of US strikes on Iranian targets after an Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems intercepted several ballistic missiles targeting the country. Authorities urged residents to remain indoors and follow safety instructions as security measures were increased.

In Doha, loud explosions were reported as air defenses responded to incoming missiles. Qatar also confirmed that attacks targeting the Al Udeid Air Base were intercepted.

The UAE said its air defense systems were responding to missile and drone threats, while Kuwait announced that it was engaging hostile aerial targets and advised residents to take precautionary measures.

Bahrain also confirmed that its air defenses had been activated in response to the attacks.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted US military facilities in the region, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Iran also claimed attacks on locations in Jordan and Oman, though details of those claims were not immediately confirmed.

The escalation came after the US military’s Central Command announced strikes on Iranian targets, saying the operation aimed to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten civilian ships and commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest developments have increased concerns over regional security, as Gulf countries continue monitoring the situation and maintaining defensive readiness.
