The 12th British Week in Kuwait was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed at the Capital Mall on February 18, 2025. The event showcases British industries, automotive, aviation, education, and renowned international brands. It was attended by British Ambassador to Kuwait, Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad, along with several dignitaries.

During the opening, UK Ambassador Belinda Lewis highlighted the pride of the British community in their contribution to Kuwait’s development. She encouraged the public to visit the exhibition. Visitors can explore the various pavilions showcasing cooperation between the two nations. These fields include trade, investment, culture, and innovation.

Ahmed Ismail Behbehani, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, underscored the historical significance of Kuwaiti-British relations, which span 250 years. He emphasized that this year’s British Week coincides with the 64th anniversary of Kuwait’s Independence and the 34th Liberation Day. This adds special meaning to the event. Behbehani also reflected on the enduring partnership between the two countries. This partnership was forged through the signing of the Kuwaiti-British Treaty of 1899 and the shared sacrifices during the 1990 Iraqi invasion.
