Ahmed Ismail Behbehani, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, underscored the historical significance of Kuwaiti-British relations, which span 250 years. He emphasized that this year’s British Week coincides with the 64th anniversary of Kuwait’s Independence and the 34th Liberation Day. This adds special meaning to the event. Behbehani also reflected on the enduring partnership between the two countries. This partnership was forged through the signing of the Kuwaiti-British Treaty of 1899 and the shared sacrifices during the 1990 Iraqi invasion.
The British Week continues to serve as a major economic event. It symbolizes the strong and long-standing friendship between Kuwait and the United Kingdom.
