Gulf States Condemn Iranian Attacks on Kuwait

Gulf countries issued strong condemnations on Wednesday after Iran claimed responsibility for attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, raising fresh concerns over regional security and escalating tensions across the Gulf.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other Gulf officials described the strikes as a violation of sovereignty and international law, while calling for a unified regional response.

Bader Al Asaker, head of the private office of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressed solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain in a message posted on X, praying for the safety of Gulf populations and regional stability.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the attacks, saying they represented a serious breach of the sovereignty of both countries.

Presidential adviser Anwar Gargash urged Gulf states to adopt a “firm and cohesive” position, warning against allowing any single country in the region to face threats alone.

Iran said the attacks targeted US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain.

Kuwaiti authorities later announced the suspension of flights at Kuwait International Airport after what officials described as significant material damage caused by the strikes.

The latest escalation comes amid heightened instability in the region and growing fears of a broader confrontation involving Gulf states, Iran and US military interests.
