The Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2025) has once again proven its value. This year’s conference welcomed a strong delegation of international and United Nations agencies. They praised UAE humanitarian leadership for driving innovation and coordination across global aid efforts.
Stephen Anderson, Director of the WFP office in the UAE, spoke proudly about the country’s commitment. He emphasized the UAE’s consistent support for emergency operations in Gaza, Yemen, Syria, and Türkiye. According to Anderson, UAE humanitarian leadership offers unmatched logistical support from Dubai’s Jebel Ali hub.
Moreover, Anderson highlighted how DIHAD creates space for vital collaboration. He noted the event brings together aid agencies, private companies, and academic institutions. This mix strengthens the ability to deliver smarter and faster aid worldwide.
Importantly, Anderson also stressed the role of technology. He explained how new tools improve delivery and protect recipients’ dignity. In addition, he praised private-sector partners who help enhance food security for vulnerable communities.
Likewise, Sajeda Shawa, Head of the OCHA office in the UAE, commended the conference. She described DIHAD as essential for aligning international humanitarian efforts. For over 21 years, OCHA has been involved with the event’s scientific advisory board. She emphasized that OCHA values this long-standing collaboration.
During a February 28 workshop, participants discussed humanitarian values and international law. This session focused on diplomacy, technology, and AI in modern response models. It showed how UAE humanitarian leadership continues to evolve with the times.
Madelaine Kuns from Jesuit Refugee Service also voiced strong support. She noted that DIHAD provides unmatched networking opportunities. JRS, which operates in 58 countries, builds key partnerships at this event.
In conclusion, DIHAD 2025 reinforced the impact of UAE humanitarian leadership. The country remains a cornerstone of innovation and compassion in global relief.
