Filipino Choir Triumphs as UAE’s Choir of the Year

The Filipino choir UAE community celebrated a historic victory as Chorus Omnis was named Choir of the Year at Choirfest Middle East 2026. The competition, held on February 15 in Dubai, featured top choirs from across the region. Chorus Omnis impressed judges and audiences with technical skill and stage presence. Their win highlighted the growing influence of Filipino music talent in the UAE.

Chorus Omnis began 2026 with new members from diverse backgrounds. They rehearsed late into the night, often making personal sacrifices to perfect their performance. Their set included sacred, Filipino, and contemporary songs such as “Nearer My God To Thee,” “Sa Tabi ng Punong Saging,” and “We Built This City.” Each song highlighted their vocal strength, harmony, and energy. The all-male ensemble proved it could compete strongly against mixed choirs.

The victory held special meaning for the Filipino community in the UAE. Another Filipino choir, Koro Ducere, finished as runner-up, showing the depth of Filipino talent in the region. Chorus Omnis’ music director, Marc Misael Gamil, praised the ensemble’s discipline and teamwork. He also highlighted the strong bond among members, which contributed to a smooth and memorable performance.

Beyond winning, the achievement set a new benchmark for Filipino choirs in the UAE. It showed that cultural representation and artistic excellence can thrive in the Gulf. The success also inspires other community ensembles to pursue high standards. For many, the recognition reflects national pride and the results of preparation, teamwork, and resilience.

By securing the Choir of the Year title, Chorus Omnis strengthened the visibility of the Filipino choir UAE community in regional arts circles. Their success reflects dedication, skill, and cultural pride. It encourages future performances and broader participation in competitions. Overall, the ensemble’s accomplishment underscores the importance of supporting arts and cultural initiatives in expatriate communities.
