Fifth Ring Road Tunnel to Salmiya Opens Today for Smoother Traffic

Kuwait’s road infrastructure has received a significant boost with the opening of the Fifth Ring Road Expressway Tunnel towards Salmiya, effective March 11. This development is part of the Public Authority for Roads & Transportation’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the country’s road network, aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing the overall traffic flow in surrounding areas.

The announcement was made by Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, Director General of the Public Authority for Roads & Transportation, in coordination with the General Traffic Department. He emphasized that the project’s completion is a vital step toward improving traffic conditions in the region, especially around the newly opened tunnel.

This new tunnel follows the recent opening of a similar project towards Jahra by Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Public Works and Acting Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy. The continuous development of such infrastructure reflects Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing its traffic systems and ensuring smoother commutes for its citizens.
