Extreme Heat in UAE Triggers Safety Warnings for Residents

Extreme heat in UAE continues to intensify, prompting urgent warnings from weather authorities and public health officials. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast dangerously high temperatures this week across the country.

Inland regions can expect extreme heat in UAE with temperatures rising between 44°C and 49°C. Coastal and island areas will not escape the heat either. Highs there are expected to reach between 40°C and 45°C. Additionally, mountainous regions will also feel the effects, with temperatures climbing to 35°C to 40°C.

Despite the harsh weather, residents might see short-lived rainfall. Fair to partly cloudy skies will dominate most days. However, convective clouds are likely to form over eastern areas by the afternoon. These localized rain chances are expected to last through Friday.

Winds will stay light to moderate during the week. At times, they may pick up slightly during the afternoon. This may bring some temporary relief to those outdoors. Meanwhile, sea conditions will stay generally calm. Light waves are expected in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Extreme heat in UAE raises serious health concerns. Therefore, authorities are urging everyone to take safety precautions seriously. Residents should stay indoors during peak heat hours. Experts recommend avoiding outdoor activities between 12 pm and 4 pm.

In addition, staying hydrated is crucial. People should drink water frequently, even without feeling thirsty.Authorities highly encourage people to wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. Using hats or umbrellas can also reduce sun exposure when outdoors.

Authorities advise against drinking caffeinated or sugary beverages. These drinks increase the risk of dehydration. Residents must also remember to never leave children or pets in cars. Even a few minutes inside a parked vehicle can be life-threatening.

Extreme heat in UAE demands careful attention from the public. Officials urge residents to follow official weather updates daily. They should also observe all health and safety guidance issued by local agencies.

As summer peaks, staying safe and informed becomes more important than ever. Following simple precautions can save lives during this intense heatwave.
