Erbil and Rania Rise in Solidarity as Protests Condemn Aleppo Attacks

Large demonstrations filled the streets of Erbil and Rania as people expressed support for Western Kurdistan after deadly attacks in Aleppo. The protests reflected growing anger and strong solidarity with Kurdish neighborhoods under fire. Moreover, demonstrators connected local action to a wider regional crisis affecting civilians in northern Syria.

On Friday evening, crowds gathered along Erbil’s well-known 60 Meter Road. Protesters waved Kurdish flags and chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to the violence. They called for unity among Kurds across borders. In addition, they praised resistance in the face of military pressure.

The protesters focused heavily on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsud and Ashrafieh in Aleppo. They accused Syrian forces of targeting civilian areas. Furthermore, they said shelling destroyed homes and displaced families. Many described the attacks as deliberate and unacceptable.

At the same time, the city of Rania witnessed a large public demonstration. Rania serves as the center of the Raparin administration. There, crowds gathered in central areas and raised banners condemning the attacks. Protesters stressed national unity and shared responsibility.

During a press conference, a representative of the Rania demonstrators read a prepared statement. The statement emphasized confidence in Kurdish strength across all regions. Additionally, it highlighted morale despite ongoing hardship. The speaker said unity remains essential during times of conflict.

Participants in Rania strongly reaffirmed support for Western Kurdistan during the demonstration. They argued that public silence would worsen the situation. Therefore, they urged international attention and political pressure. They also called for protection of civilians in Aleppo.

Reports indicated that military operations continued for four straight days. Syrian forces reportedly used heavy weapons and tanks. Consequently, shelling hit densely populated Kurdish districts. Families fled as conditions rapidly worsened.

The fighting displaced nearly 150,000 residents from their neighborhoods. Many families escaped with few belongings. Humanitarian needs increased as shelters filled quickly. Meanwhile, access to aid remained limited.

The attacks killed at least 23 civilians and injured 98 others. Local sources confirmed that many victims were noncombatants. The rising toll intensified anger across the Kurdistan Region. Protesters demanded accountability for the deaths.

In Erbil, activists said the demonstrations carried a clear message. They demanded an immediate halt to the attacks. They also called for humanitarian corridors into Aleppo. Moreover, they urged diplomatic action to prevent further escalation.

As events continued, demonstrators linked Erbil and Rania with Aleppo’s suffering. They described the protests as a moral obligation. Once again, crowds voiced support for Western Kurdistan without hesitation. They promised continued action if violence persists.

Overall, the demonstrations showed a unified Kurdish response to regional instability. They highlighted how local protests can echo broader struggles. For many participants, solidarity became both resistance and warning.
