The award ceremony coincided with the conclusion of the 10th session of the Social Sciences and Humanities Conference. The conference was organised by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. Attendees included members of the prize committee and a distinguished group of Arab researchers.
President of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and Chair of the Prize Committee, Dr. Abdelwahab El Affendi, announced this year’s winners:

- Youssef Zaddam, for his work on ethics and politics in social media.
The prize, established in 2011, is a biennial award aimed at encouraging innovative research in social sciences and humanities. It addresses development challenges in Arab societies. Winners receive a certificate of achievement, a $10,000 financial award, and a $40,000 research grant. This supports continuing their studies or launching new projects.
To date, 54 researchers from across the Arab world have been honoured by the award for their significant contributions to the field. Submissions are selected through a competitive process linked to papers presented at the conference.
Dr. Bishara concluded the event by announcing the theme for the 11th session: “Social Sciences and Humanities and Artificial Intelligence in the Arab World”. He invited researchers to submit proposals for the next edition. Details regarding the call for papers will be published soon on the Arab Center’s official website.
